- The basic macramé knot: sinnets, alternating patterns, plant hanger arms, bracelets, the join between net rows.
- How it is tied
- Two filler cords in the middle, two working cords outside. Take the left working cord over the fillers and under the right; take the right cord under the fillers and up through the loop on the left; pull tight (a half knot). Repeat from the right to complete the square knot. Starting from the same side every time gives the flat knot; the first half knot decides which side the bump sits.
