- Used for
- Counted work on aida and evenweave, borders and sampler motifs in surface embroidery, filling with a checked texture.
- How it works
- Two diagonal stitches crossing in a square, with every top stitch slanting the same way. On aida or evenweave it is worked by counting; on plain fabric the squares are drawn or gridded first. The cross-stitch section of this site covers charts, thread colours and fabric counts for counted work.
