Filling stitches: cm of thread per square cm of solid cover with all six strands (halve the strands and the figure doubles). - Borders, holding hems and appliqué edges, a base for laced and tied variations, open filling of bands.
- How it works
- Long diagonal stitches crossing at the top and bottom of a band, worked left to right with small backward stitches along each edge. Worked closely it becomes a filling; rows can be interlaced with a second colour.
