Filling stitches: cm of thread per square cm of solid cover with all six strands (halve the strands and the figure doubles). - Filling leaves with a plaited centre vein, decorative bands, edges.
- How it works
- Stitches are taken alternately from each side of the shape toward the centre with the thread under the needle, so the loops interlock in a central plait. Worked closely it fills a leaf completely; spaced out it is an open border stitch.
