Filling stitches: cm of thread per square cm of solid cover with all six strands (halve the strands and the figure doubles). - Raised dots, berries, monogram letters and any small shape that should stand up from the fabric.
- How it works
- A layer of running, chain or satin stitch worked first across the shape, then covered with satin stitch in the other direction. Each layer of padding adds height; the top layer is worked slightly beyond the padding so nothing shows.
