French knot

Filling stitches: cm of thread per square cm of solid cover with all six strands (halve the strands and the figure doubles). - Flower centres, eyes, dots, berries, a dense textured filling when massed; the centre of a lazy daisy.
- How it works
- The thread is wrapped once or twice around the needle, the needle is taken back down close to where it came up, and the wraps are pulled snug against the fabric before the thread is drawn through. Thread factor is per cm of knots set touching; about 3 cm of thread per knot with six strands.
